Progress on Arabic translation.

Several days ago Thorsten and I noticed a web site with an Arabic version of the phpMyFAQ. Someone has made an enormous effort to translate this.

However, my first email regarding the permission to ship an upcoming version 1.3.9pl2 with support for Arabic was not replied yet.

On the web site albakr.net (which appears to be as some kind of Arabic freshmeat.net) I found a page containing a link to a modified version of phpMyFAQ.

The english language file is replaced with a complete translation into Arabic. As far as I can tell, this is great work!

I’ll try to contact some of the good people who made this effort to include this as soon as possible.

If you think you can help in this or any other matter, please contact me!

The open tasks are:
1. Further comments on the quality of the translation (I have no doubt that this one is well done)
2. Reports on which character set should be used. The original version made use of windows-1256 and I have some objections against this. Would utf-8 fit better in this?
3. Reports on how a right-to-left language makes modifications to the default template nescassary.
4. Clearification on the permission to include the Arabic translation into the mainstream phpMyFAQ distribution.
5. (your suggestion here).
