phpMyFAQ 2.8.0-alpha2 Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of the second development release of the next major version of phpMyFAQ, phpMyFAQ 2.8.0-alpha2, the “Neil Armstrong” release. We changed PHP requirement to PHP 5.3.2 and licensed the complete code base under the terms of Mozilla Public License 2.0. We added multi site support, an auto-save functionality for FAQs during editing, the possibility to delete multiple open questions, support for Composer and a configurable maintenance mode. We also improved usability of administration backend. We updated bundled jQuery to version 1.8.0, the bundled Modernizr library to version 2.6.3 and our CSS code is based on Twitter Bootstrap 2.1.0. Please don’t use this version in production systems, but test this version and please report bugs!

phpMyFAQ 2.7.5 Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 2.7.5, the “Trayvon Martin” release. This releases fixes a serious remote PHP code execution vulnerability, all users of affected phpMyFAQ versions are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible to this latest versions! A detailed security advisory is available. We also added full support for Microsoft SQL Server Driver for PHP, an online verification check and an experimental support for SQLite3. We updated the Spanish and fixed Slovak translation. We also fixed a lot of minor issues.

phpMyFAQ 2.8.0-alpha Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce the first development release of the next major version of phpMyFAQ, phpMyFAQ 2.8.0-alpha, the “Gioachino Rossini” release. This development version adds a new and improved frontend and backend user interface based on Twitter Bootstrap, an improved advanced search in subcategories, the possibility to close and delete open questions and we included an user control panel. We dropped support for IBM DB2, Interbase/Firebird and Sybase databases. We improved usability of administration backend, the setup and update, the security with salted passwords and we eased the CSS development with using LESS. We updated the bundled jQuery to version 1.7.1, the bundled Modernizr library to version 2.5.2 and we added Twitter Bootstrap 2.0.1. This release is more a snapshot with some new features and many unfinished stuff. So please don’t use this version in production systems, but test this version and please report bugs!

phpMyFAQ 2.7.2 Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 2.7.2, the “James Rizzi” release. This release improves the PDF export and the installation script for MySQL users. We updated the Finnish, the French and the simplified Chinese translations. We also fixed some bugs. phpMyFAQ 2.6 is now out of support, please update to the current 2.7 release as soon as possible. We wish everyone a happy new year 2012!

phpMyFAQ 2.6.19 and 2.7.1 Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce phpMyFAQ 2.7.1, the “Dennis Ritchie” release. This releases fixes a remote PHP code injection vulnerability, all users of affected phpMyFAQ versions are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible to this latest versions! A detailed security advisory is available. We also added some missing translations, a configurable encryption type for passwords, support for anonymous login for LDAP servers and a table of contents in PDF exports. We also fixed some minor bugs.
We also released the security release phpMyFAQ 2.6.19 for the old 2.6 series.

phpMyFAQ 2.7.0 Released!

After more than one year of work the phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 2.7.0, the “James Dean” release. With this release we dropped the support of MySQL 4.1 and both Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 due to our new HTML5/CSS3 powered layout. We added a configurable search relevance functionality, automatic translations with Google Translate, Twitter and Facebook Like Button support. We also added an attachment administration frontend, basic authentication support for LDAP groups, basic support for HTML5 microdata and the functionality of the TinyMCE save button. Furthermore we introduced a basic reporting functionality, IPv6 support, Single Sign On authentication, support for complete secured FAQ installations, an user configurable date formatting and the possibility to delete user generated search terms. We really improved usability in the whole frontend and administration backend and enabled Gzip compression. We also updated the bundled jQuery, Modernizr, TinyMCE, SyntaxHighlighter and TCPDF libraries. Our users already updated the Dutch, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish translation.

phpMyFAQ 2.7.0-RC Released!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of the release candidate of our next major version, phpMyFAQ 2.7.0-RC, the “Tupac Shakur” release. We added the possibility to delete user generated search terms and updated the Japanese and Spanish translation. We improved the complete usability all over the application and we also fixed a lot of bugs. Do not use this version in production systems, but test this version and please report bugs!

The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce the third and last beta release of our next major version, phpMyFAQ 2.7.0-beta3, the “Life Of Brian” release. We added a captcha refresh, improved the attachment handling in the administration backend and upgraded all bundled libraries. We improved the complete usability all over the application and we also fixed a lot of bugs. Do not use this version in production systems, but test this version and please report bugs!

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of the second beta release of our next major version, phpMyFAQ 2.7.0-beta2, the “Amy Winehouse” release. We added support for Single Sign On authentication, finally support for complete secured FAQ installations and and an user configurable date formatting option. We improved the complete usability all over the application, the Dutch and German translations were updated and we also fixed a lot of bugs. Do not use this version in production systems, but test this version and report bugs!

We dropped the support for Internet Explorer 7 and upgraded all bundled libraries. We improved the complete usability all over the application and we also fixed a lot of bugs. The beta version is now feature complete we’re focus now on stability and more improved usability. Do not use this version in production systems, but test this version and please report bugs!
