The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce phpMyFAQ 2.7.1, the “Dennis Ritchie” release. This releases fixes a remote PHP code injection vulnerability, all users of affected phpMyFAQ versions are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible to this latest versions! A detailed security advisory is available. We also added some missing translations, a configurable encryption type for passwords, support for anonymous login for LDAP servers and a table of contents in PDF exports. We also fixed some minor bugs.
We also released the security release phpMyFAQ 2.6.19 for the old 2.6 series.

The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce phpMyFAQ 2.6.14, the “Macintosh 128″ release. We added rewrite rules for nginx, compatibility for MySQL 5.5 with ext/mysql and support to ban IPs from user tracking files. We improved the restore functionality and updated the Dutch and German translation. We fixed an issue with sending mails to category administrators and some minor bugs.

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 2.6.9, the “Tia Zoe” release. This release fixes a XSS vulnerability. All users of affected phpMyFAQ versions are encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible to this latest versions! A detailed security advisory is available. We also added a Slovak translation and a minor usability improvement in the administration backend. Additionally we fixed an issue with embedded Google Analytics code.

phpMyFAQ 2.6.8 Released!
The phpMyFAQ Team is pleased to announce phpMyFAQ 2.6.8, the “Laurent Fignon” release. We dropped the Oracle database support and added a new TinyMCE plugin for adding internal links by a suggest search. We also added a basic HTML5 powered administration backend and improved the setup and update functionality. The bundled TCPDF library was updated to version 5.6.000, the bundled TinyMCE editor component to version 3.3.8 and the bundled phpseclib to version 0.2.1. We also updated the Russian and the Portuguese translation. We fixed a XML rendering issue and many minor bugs.
Status update for phpMyFAQ 2.6.8, 2.7.0-alpha and 3.0.0-dev
This week we branched the new 2.7 branch from the current stable 2.6 branch. 2.7.0 will be the next major version of phpMyFAQ with a focus on a brand new user interface and some social improvements like better Facebook and Twitter integration. We changed the minimal PHP version for phpMyFAQ 2.7 to PHP 5.2.3. The current master branch was re-versioned to 3.0.0-dev and will need PHP 5.3, but it will take more than a year before you can see something here.

This release includes a complete refactored and unittested search backend, an improved pagination functionality and we fixed various problems with Microsoft SQL Server Driver for PHP. Yesterday I finished the big refactoring/rewrite of the search backend. Now I’ll test the new code base and then release 2.6.7 asap.

Today I had a little bit of free time for refactoring because I was at home with a summer cold. The old search routines are now removed from our codebase and the new search classes are already committed. The code is also unittested but I think I’ll release a 2.6.7-beta before the final release of 2.6.7.

Some parts of the phpMyFAQ codebase are quite old because phpMyFAQ is almost 10 years old. Currently I’m working on the refactoring of the search component which hopefully will be part of phpMyFAQ 2.6.7. You maybe ask why I do this in the stable version and not in the master branch? The answer is quite simple: my spare time is limited so I will concentrate the next weeks and months on improve the 2.6 code base which will also be merged into the master branch for phpMyFAQ 2.7 and later.

This release includes a refactored database abstraction, fixes OpenLDAP authentication, fixes duplication of search results, fixes an issue with duplicate sitemap characters and some solution ID issues. We improved the glossary deletion workflowand updated the Brazilian Portuguese and Norwegian Bokmal translations. We also fixed some minor bugs.

The phpMyFAQ Team would like to announce the availability of phpMyFAQ 2.6.5, the “Ronnie James Dio” release. This release updates bundled TCPDF library to version 5.0.009 and TinyMCE editor component to version 3.3.5.1. We refactored OpenSearch plugin code base and fixed small update issues in update script, a missing language fallback issue in instant response, the user deletion in admin backend and a backup/restore bug. We updated the Polish, Russian and Thai translation. We also fixed some minor bugs.
